Lily Hamilton had her quiet, predictable life all mapped out, including a hot-shot attorney for a fiancé. That is until she catches him screwing around and takes off in his prized Mercedes, for once not giving a damn where she’s headed. How clichéd is that?
Gabriel Jackson is raw and disillusioned. Driving a tow truck is a far cry from the dangerous career he turned his back on, but when he finds the classy blonde in a dangerous part of LA, he’s immediately back in the role of protector.
Lily is hot and sweet and so out of his league it’s not funny, yet Gabe can’t deny the sizzling heat between them. He thinks he wants hard, fast and rough—until he gets his hands on her. He knows he should stay the hell away, but Lily makes him feel, really feel, for the first time in two years. Is she just slumming or can she see beyond the harsh, broken façade to the man beneath? A man who dreams of making her his?
"Play Me is a sweet romance between two vulnerable people. This novella is not short on character development or plot details."
- Romantic Times
"Guilty Pleasure Alert! This pushed a lot of my happy buttons as a romance goes. Damaged hero, innocent yet seductive heroine. Danger, deception and desperation. Yum.”
- Night Owl Reviews
"Amazing love scenes. What I expected wasn’t what I got and I’m glad. Gabe says he’s all about the hard and rough, yet things change once he touches Lily. This was a great mix of hard and soft, and I think it was done well."
- You Gotta Read Reviews
"This book is great for people who love broken and sexy heroes. I love the characters as well as the secondary characters. Hopefully we’ll see books about them in the future from Ms. Hart. With yet another sinfully hot book, this author has become an instant buy for me. I highly recommend it."
- Long and Short Reviews
"I would recommend Play Me to anyone who likes to see a bad guy get the rich chick.."

Gabriel (Gabe) and Lily. These two are such a pair, Gabe is so domineering, with a cracked soul while Lily is naïve yet strong in character. The chemistry behind these two is amazing, and how the really do complete each other is something to be desired. Separately they are both broken and just making it through life, but together they become whole, where he is rough and jagged around the edges, she smooths him over and is the gentle calming balm he needs. Oh to live in the books!! Kaily Hart has me hooked and I can't wait for her books to come out!!!! Only issue, I wish they were a bit longer!!!Product details

Play Me edition by Kaily Hart Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Gabe is so many things I love in a hero tough bad boy who eats you up with his intense eyes and makes you shiver in the most delicious way; the wounded hero, the kind of man you want to help fix. He's gruff, short-tempered, even rude and abrupt, just yummy to me. Should probably get some therapy for this, but I love a surly, rough around the edges man. I loved him as a blue-collar tow truck driver, but when we find out he's actually a cop, there's just something about a hardened, disillusioned cop in need of some tender loving care.
He also has this white knight complex. No matter how much like a jerk he may seem, he'll still come to your rescue, which is what he does for Lily. I really liked Lily. She comes across as sincere, innocent, self-conscious and a little unsure. Lily's a nice girl, a damsel in distress, but she's also more than that. She's the one capable of rescuing Gabe from all the darkness in his life and job, the one woman who makes him feel alive and clean and whole. Gabe tells Lily, "I feel good when I'm with you."
The sexual chemistry is hot. The things this bad boy says just turned me on. To the point and not very smooth in the sack, Gabe's too needy and raw to be anything other than intense, rough and demanding. But did this make for some unbelievable sex. And when he 'frisks' her up against the door? Way hot. As Lily soothes all this masculine rawness, Gabe begins to let more feelings out. My favorite line is, "You do it for me, Lily, like no woman ever has." I can't resist when a bad boy realizes he's met The One.
I loved seeing how this strong but vulnerable alpha male admits his feelings. Ever the cynical cop, Gabe thought he was being played, that Lily was too good to be true, but she turned out to be just what he needed.
This book is short and sweet. Just over 100 pages, but worth the read, especially since it's free on KU. Kaily Hart writes great couples, hot alphas, good dialogue, and explicit sex. You rarely get all those in one erotic romance. I just wish she would develop the plots and give us more story. I like these couples and want more! Her books usually have an engaging beginning, like this one with the damsel in distress, and an immediate attraction.
But, there's deeper feelings that quickly come to the surface and the couples share more than just sexual attraction. She brings out their inner conflicts, along with their humanity and decency. The hot sex happens on the way to them falling hopelessly in love.
For the reader, it's not a bad way to pass an hour or two.
This was a super steamy romance. Really liked the story line between the main characters. Wish it could have been longer. Good read.
Gave and Lilly are a cute couple. He is so protective and she being so naive, you knew the passion was going to be hot. My only wish was it would go on.
My first thought after finishing Play Me by Kaily Hart was, "Am I supposed to go to bed now and actually sleep?"
It's an erotic and steamy tale that doesn't leave you feeling rested or relaxed, quite the opposite actually. I recommend this novel for adults who are looking for a hot, mindless, sexy story. If you are looking for a great romance or a story with an amazing plot, then this isn't the book for you. Personally, I like a good mixture of the two. But, the plot in Play Me definitely takes a backseat to the sex. The plot was intriguing, but nothing special. The sex, however, was something else.
I gave Play Me by Kaily Hart 3 STARS. (It's actually 2.5 STARS, but I rounded up.) I recommend this novel to adults who are in the mood for something extremely steamy, not something sweet and romantic.
-XOXO
